Paperfeel also offers 'off-the-peg' films
Paperfeel at The Packaging Innovation Show 2006
Paperfeel has created a standard range of films in addition to its customised film. This has been well received by customers that have clearly defined requirements. Applications for Paperfeel, the innovative three layer polyethylene film, range from waterproof tablecloths to heavy duty sacks for horse pellets. The versatility of this innovative film is great, but as it becomes more widely used a number of popular choices are emerging. The most frequently requested films will be among those on show on stand No 720.
Paperfeel's technical director, Geoff Southwell, pioneered the development of the polyethylene film, which is strong and moisture resistant like plastic, but with the texture, print quality and folding characteristics of paper.
He said: "The beauty of Paperfeel is that it can be exactly what the client wants it to be. So, the inner surface can be low friction for ease of filling, the middle layer a stiffener and the outside high friction to prevent slippage and to create an excellent print surface. Computerised quality testing and recording equipment allows us to create unique films tailored to clients' need."
“However we are now seeing strong demand for certain applications such as non-slip sacks that will take a high quality print finish and have started to provide some off-the peg solutions for these types of application.”
