A map even the British weather can't spoil
Paperfeel map 'Best Beaches of East Anglia' is the ultimate holiday accessory
A revolutionary type of polyethylene called Paperfeel is set to put an end to worn and battered maps - the prototype features the 'Best Beaches of East Anglia' showing that it is a map that can survive even the British holiday weather.
Data
from the Marine Conservation Society's 'Good Beach Guide'
has been used to create the map.
"East Anglia has some of the best family beaches in the country," comments Geoff Southwell technical director for Paperfeel Ltd, based in Peterborough. "We already support the Marine Conservation Society as corporate benefactors, and this promotional map has been created using data provided by MCS. It is the ultimate accessory for a British seaside holiday and can be used as a ground sheet, a rain cover, a sunshade, to protect the car seats from the sand, odour proof wrapping for greasy fish and chips - or simply as a colourful all weather poster to remind you of your holiday!"
Paperfeel is a unique triple layer film in which each layer can have different properties. If used for sacks it enables a stiff middle layer, high slip inside and low slip outer to be incorporated. For maps it offers a waterproof, paper like surface that can take a high quality print and it can be deadfolded but - unlike traditional paper maps - paperfeel can be refolded without damaging the creases.
Geoff Southwell, believes that the innovative film is versatile for a wide variety of holiday applications: "Paperfeel offers the qualities of paper in a plastic, it is therefore ideal for menus in restaurants and bars and for waterproof posters and signage. If a parchment finish is used for the outside it has old fashioned appeal for wrapping fresh fish, strong cheese and other farm shop produce that benefits from being smell free on the long journey home!"
