Quality table covering with Paperfeel
An innovative approach to disposable table wear has been achieved by Kenay Ltd, who are launching a new range of waterproof table covers. By using Paperfeel, a unique 3-layer polyethylene film, it has created a tablecloth with the luxury drape and texture of linen and the durability of plastic.
Keith Naylor, Managing Director of Kenay Ltd, makers of disposable tabletop products said that Paperfeel had a far nicer feel to it than normal plastic. "We worked with Paperfeel to create a material that exactly suited what I wanted to use it for." The company imports material from all over Europe to meet their product requirements.
Paperfeel creates a robust table covering with a textured upper surface. The impenetrable top layer allows fluid to be wiped off, protecting tabletops from damage and spillage, while the low-slip under-layer can help keep the cloth and its contents steady on the table.
PaperFeel can be tinted or printed, so that Kenay can tailor the look of the covering to provide a choice of bold colours or patterns.
Mr Naylor is very excited about the launch of the product. He worked closely
with Geoff Southwell, Technical Director at Paperfeel, based
in Peterborough, to ensure the film met his requirements.
"We were very impressed by Paperfeel. We could have tried
lots of prototypes but there simply wasn't the need". Mr Naylor
added his working relationship with Paperfeel had been excellent.
Geoff Southwell has pioneered the development of PaperFeel, which is strong and moisture resistant like plastic but with the texture, print quality and folding characteristics of paper.
Computerised quality testing and recording equipment ensures every batch is traceable and can be reproduced exactly. Paperfeel can be coloured or printed as required and different colours used inside and out.
